How I Made the Biggest Mandala I Could
Mandalas have always had a special place in my heart. I have been fascinated by them for many years now. I also wonder what they are besides their aesthetic nature. During my last post graduate semester at Parsons School of Design, I got the opportunity to explore them further.
However, what really got me into mandalas was meditative drawing. In today’s world full of stress and anxieties, I found meditative drawing as a way to ease my mind and body. So, while working in a Contemplative Studio as a part of my Contemplative Communication Studies at Syracuse University, I decided to make the biggest mandala that I could using my hand, body and feet. It is 5”4 by 5”4 and it took me eight hours at a stretch to make this mandala with only a fifteen minute break in between.
